To provide administrative, organizational, and programmatic support
to students that facilitate their development as quality urban educators,
community professionals, and advocates for change.
Values Statement for SOE Advising
We value a student-centered, holistic and ethical approach based
on a strong partnership with students, faculty and staff, and the
larger campus community. We are committed to creating a respectful
and supportive environment for our diverse student, staff and faculty
population. We encourage our students to be self-reliant through
informed decisions and choices based upon dissemination of accurate
information. We value the continuous professional development of
our staff to enhance the quality of the advising experience.

1. First year students will report at least one contact with
their advisors each semester.

(70%) of first year students have documentation in their student
file showing contact.
2. Students will understand their program requirements.

3. Students will be knowledgeable of available
internal and external resources.

made them feel comfortable, welcome, and concerned with their needs.
