UWM's diversity action initiatives are rooted
in UW System's Plan
2008 and the Milwaukee
Commitment Phase 2 document. Reports from the Task Forces on Race
and Ethnicity and on the Climate
for Women have demonstrated the priority of making further progress
on our diversity goals. The implementation status of UWM's diversity
initiatives is being tracked as a key element of Access
to Success and in the new UWM Equity Scorecard, a UW System pilot
project.
UWM's diversity initiatives have the common purpose
of enhancing the diversity of our student body, faculty, and staff; improving
the learning and retention of students of color; and maintaining the important
access role that UWM plays in the Milwaukee community.
