Sophomore Research Experience

The Sophomore Research Experience is sponsored by the UW-Milwaukee Graduate School, the Wisconsin Alliance for Minority Participation (WiscAMP), and the National Science Foundation (NSF). This is a summer undergraduate research opportunity for students who have finished their freshman year and are studying in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) areas. Students must be members of underrepresented groups.

SRE provides an eight-week summer research internship. The internship will revolve around a student pursuing a research project supervised by a UWM faculty mentor.

Personal and academic counseling will be provided by the advising staff of the Ronald McNair and Committee on Institutional Cooperation Summer Research Opportunity programs.
