Regional Ambassadors

Regional Ambassadors serve in geographically-based areas where alumni chapters are not already established by the UWMAA.  They act as the main contact between alumni in the area and the UWMAA as well as plan occasional events based on regional needs.

As a Regional Ambassador, you will serve a vital role as a key connector to UWM in a geographic area where there is not a large alumni population.  You can make a significant impact on students, fellow alumni, and the university in the following ways:
-Serve as the liaison between local alumni, the UWMAA, and the university
-Assist UWMAA staff with event planning in area
-Create an online alumni presence for your geographic area by utilizing the UWMAA Chapter Communication Tools (please give UWMAA staff administrator rights on all social media accounts created)
-Serve as the point of contact and respond to outreach from other alumni in the area
-Support the Ambassador Program by reaching out to prospective students in the area, planning events (summer send-offs), and attending college fairs
-Join the quarterly Chapter Chats to get university and UWMAA updates, learn about best practices, and discuss questions and concerns
-Support UWMAA student scholarships by hosting fundraisers, participating in calling campaigns, or collecting gifts from fellow alumni, community members, and corporate supporters
Regional Ambassadors receive:
-Invitation to annual leadership retreat at UWM, which provides the opportunity to brainstorm and share ideas with other leaders (transportation and lodging not provided by the UWMAA)
-Social media marketing through UWMAA and training in establishing and increasing social media reach
-Listing of Regional Ambassador information on UWMAA Chapter website and event promotion on UWMAA homepage
-Assistance in planning and implementation of programs and events as appropriate and/or requested
-UWMAA materials, giveaways, and event supplies as appropriate and/or requested

Regional Ambassadors do not receive:
1. Chapter administrator rights in the Alumni Directory
2. Eligibility to apply for chapter funding
