UWM’s Department of Visual Art invites you to participate
in the fifth annual installment of our campaign to build a Visual
Art alumni/student community; to celebrate past achievement and current
successes; and to foster interactions between current students and
their alumni predecessors. In 2006-2007, which coincides with UWM’s
50th anniversary, the Institute of Visual Arts (Inova) will be presenting
a series of exhibitions featuring our alumni.
Continuum 5(0), a juried
exhibition that will feature alumni work from each of the five
decades of UWM’s existence, is the first
of these exhibitions. Continuum 5(0) opens in the Inova/Arts Center
Gallery on Friday, September 15, 2006 and continues through Saturday,
October 14. Please join us for an opening reception from 5-8 pm
on September 15. Click here for the call for
entries.
Professors Emeriti Tony Stoeveken
and Frank Lutz will share an exhibition with two of their students,
Stephanie Copoulos-Selle
and Carol Emmons,
in Inova/Arts Center (October 20-November 18, 2006). The opening
reception, on October 20, is from 5-8 pm.
Alumnus and ceramic
sculptor Verne Funk will be the subject of an exhibition in Inova/Zelazo,
the Mary L. Nohl Galleries (October
27-December
10). The opening reception, on October 27, is from 5-7 pm.
A catalogue
will be published for the 50th anniversary exhibitions, and the
Continuum 5(0) artists will be featured in the catalogue
and on the Peck School of the Arts web site. Information on
purchasing the catalogue will be available in the fall.
I look forward
to seeing you in 2006-2007!
