During the freshman year students will satisfy the Foundations course requirements and begin to satisfy the university core curriculum requirements. During the sophomore year, students will choose between the two- or three-dimensional course requirements. After the completion of a group of 2D or 3D course requirements, students will choose between a 2D or 3D concentration which will allow either breadth in several areas, or depth in one area.

During the junior academic year students will satisfy the requirements of either the 2D concentration or 3D concentration, selecting available studio courses from the department’s eight studio area submajors to fulfill either concentration.

Following are the curricular requirements:
Freshman Foundations: 18 credits
2D studio (100-200 level): 3 credits
3D studio (100-200 level): 3 credits
Introductory (100-200) level 2D and 3D studio courses: 6 credits

Students select one 3-credit course from the following introductory (100-200) level 2D group and one 3-credit course from the following introductory (100-200) level 3D group.
