GENERAL INFORMATION
The problems we work out in advance and the more information we share, the more pleasant and rewarding will this experience be for everyone. Please contact us if you have any questions, problems, or concerns.

For every participant from the host and visiting institutions, there are possibilities for injury and other dangers in daily life, travel, in taking dance class, performing, etc. Before any participation in the conference, participants must agree to accept responsibility for themselves. They must also agree to hold University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and the faculty, staff, and students of the university free of any claims, damages, or litigation.

Should any matter or condition beyond the reasonable control of ACDFA or the host institution (such as, but not limited to war, public emergency or calamity, strike, labor disturbance or disruption, fire, interruption of transportation service, breakdown of mechanical or electrical equipment, casualty, physical disability, illness earthquake, flood, Act of God, or other disturbance, or any governmental restriction whether federal, state or local) prevent performance by a party to this conference, then this conference may be canceled by ACDFA.

Each participating institution is solely responsible for obtaining any and all permissions/licenses, including licenses to use any accompanying music or text for any and all works they present in the adjudicated concerts and/or informal concert.

As with most conference situations, you never receive as much time as you might like to rehearse, space, and tech your dances. That is simply the nature of the beast. Works that require large amounts of technical assistance or cueing will not usually work as well in these situations due to the time constraints.

In bringing scenery and or props, the institution bringing said items understands that the institution and the Stage Manager/Designer bringing in scenery and/or props is completely liable and responsible for damages to personnel, space, floor or equipment that might be caused by the scenery or props. University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and the faculty, staff, and students of the university are not liable. The (ACDF) Production Stage Manager may refuse the installation or use of any scenery or props that he/she considers to be unsafe. Nothing may be nailed or screwed into the stage floor or wings.

There will be no time for bows during the adjudicated concerts.

For everyone's safety there is to be no eating, or drinking, other than water in a plastic bottle, allowed in the dressing rooms, backstage, in the theater, or in any of the studios.

Classes are on a first-come/first-serve basis. No one will be admitted without a conference badge.
In general, no metal or hard soled shoes or shoes which leave marks will be allowed upon any of the marley or wood dance floors in the studios, rehearsal and performance spaces. No rosin, talc, or other foreign matter or shoes that have these substances on them will be allowed anywhere.

Exception
All tap classes will be held in Mitchell 256, which has a wooden floor. Tap pieces are welcome in all concerts. Be aware that the floor surface of the stage is a marley floor, and will affect the tone and quality of tap sounds. Be sure to double check your screws/nails so that they do not protrude beyond the flat surface of your tap shoe soles. Individuals will be responsible for any marring of the floor surface(s) due to improperly attached taps.
