  k-12 certification

A K-12 public school certification option is available for interested students. Certification entails the completion of an additional 30 credits and requires an additional year of study. Persons who wish to enter the Dance Department’s post-baccalaureate Teacher Certification Program for elementary and secondary levels must have a Bachelors degree in dance or equivalent from accredited institution. UWM students may use either the B.A. or the B.F.A. degree as the dance content basis degree for K-12 certification, with the addition of two semesters of dance history to the B.A. degree, and Dance 360 (Movement and Learning) to the B.F.A. degree.
