Our partnership with Milwaukee Shakespeare brings professionals on campus. Each year, more than 40 theatrical visionaries work together with theatre students to produce a season of Shakespearean classics in UWM’s Mainstage Theater.

Zakkiya Alexander
Zakkiya Alexander is a playwright and performer. She is the author of After the Show: A Play in Mask, Pralaya, Blurring Shine, (900), Elected, The Etymology of Bird, and Sick. She has worked with New Dramatists, and is a resident member of EST’s Youngblood and the women’s Project Playwrights Lab.

Ms. Alexander is currently a playwright is residence. She is developing a new piece of hip hop theatre called Kenilworks that will be performed in the newly renovated Kenilworth studio theatre. Kenilworks will run from April 26-May 5, 2007.
