Gene Wright is an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business where he teaches at the graduate level in business strategy, IT, and marketing, and Principal of Wright Innovation, Inc. Wright Innovation is a consulting firm working at the interface of technology and business. Services include customized executive education courses, public speaking, and group facilitation.
Executive education clients include: ABB, Kohler Co., Briggs & Stratton, and the UWM Strategic Leadership Series which is delivered to executives from a consortium of nine firms, including: Briggs & Stratton, Rockwell Automation, Johnson Controls, Manpower, Kohl’s Corp., We Energies, Norlight Telecommunications, Serigraph Inc. and American Transmission Co.
Wright Innovation holds an equity stake and a principal role in Internet Concepts LLC and Netconcepts LTD NZ which focuses on integrated marketing strategy such as search engine optimized e-business consulting and delivers ASP based services for integrated e-mail marketing and e-commerce.
Prior to forming his own firm, Wright was the Milwaukee Practice Director for BORN, a medium-size business consulting and information technology services provider. Additionally, he was the Director of Global e-Business at Brady Corporation, a manufacturer of Identification Products. Wright’s e-business strategy work has been documented in an MIT Case Study as well as by IBM. His previous responsibilities within the firm included Director of Research and Development, Manager of Product Development, National Sales Manager, and Manager of Engineering Services.
Mr. Wright worked as the Manager of Sales and Marketing for Combined Technologies, Inc., a company he helped start. The company manufactured and sold high voltage systems protection equipment to electric utilities throughout North America. Prior to CT Inc., he worked with RTE Corporation as an Application Engineer, System Engineer and Market Manager. Both RTE and Combined Technologies are now part of Cooper Power Systems.
Mr. Wright also teaches graduate courses in product development, industrial marketing, and strategy at the Milwaukee School of Engineering where he is an Adjunct Professor of Engineering Management.
