The Finance major provides students with the professional tools necessary for work in investment management, corporate financial management, and banking.
Finance majors may concentrate in one of two areas: corporate finance or investment management. The corporate finance area focuses on overseeing allocation of funds, as well as the efficient borrowing of funds on the most favorable of terms. The investment concentration examines asset pricing models, portfolio selection, and security markets.
Students who graduate with a major in Finance are increasingly taking and passing the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) exam which allows for a career in money management.
