Phyllis King, Ph.D., OT, FAOTA
Professor, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs
Interests and Expertise Dr. King is a professor and Director of the Department of Occupational Therapy. She is also the Associate Director of the Center for Ergonomics and the Director of the Campus Ergonomics Services program. Her research interests focus on the prevention, assessment and rehabilitation of work-related injuries through the application of ergonomics. She provides consultation and training services in a variety of settings including office environments, manufacturing industries, child care centers, hotels, law firms, schools, and hospitals. Current research has focused on ergonomic redesign of ultrasound transducers, safe patient handling and measuring the physiological effects of loads given various lifting techniques. Recent book publications include the Source of Occupational Rehabilitation and Ergonomics for Hotel Housekeepers.
