Interests & Expertise
Dr. Earl-Boehm’s research interest is the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of lower extremity injuries in physically active individuals. Examples include Patellofemoral Pain, Iliotibial Band Syndrome, ACL injury, etc. Expertise includes the functional alignment of the lower extremity, and gait biomechanics during running. From the rehabilitation perspective, examining patient outcomes following rehabilitation interventions for Patellofemoral Pain is also an interest. Ongoing studies include examining the role of the hip in controlling lower extremity motion, and the development of rehabilitation exercises to improve the neuromuscular control of the hip during physical activity.
