As a globally-engaged university, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee must ensure that it is appropriately managing agreements with academic and research institutions based in other countries, including non-US colleges, universities, and research institutes. The Center for International Education facilitates and oversees the establishment of academic and research-related agreements with institutions and organizations based in other countries.
UWM policy S-33.5 establishes guidelines for negotiating and entering into inter-institutional agreements. Please familiarize yourself with these guideline before contacting CIE for assistance. Review of proposed agreements by the Overseas Programs and Partnerships Advisory Committee takes place twice each semester. Upcoming review dates:
- Fall: September 23, 2011 | November 18, 2011
- Spring: February 17, 2012 | April 20, 2012
UWM has ratified multiple types of agreements in the past. Unique circumstances may require a different, specifically-tailored agreement. The time needed to draft, revise, review, approve, and sign agreements differs by agreement type. Contact CIE well in advance of the date you hope the agreement will be finalized to begin the review process.
