Research that Changes Lives
CABHR is led by an interdisciplinary team of academic scientists with broad interest in the addictions and behavioral health. Established in 1991, the center has a history of pursuing epidemiological, intervention, and clinical research with important implications for addiction treatment and public policy. Our scientists currently hold $1.5 million in research grants.

CABHR to Host College Drinking Forum
Scheduled for May 18, 2009 at Marquette University, the forum will feature leading experts including Bill DeJong, Ph.D. The goal is to foster collaboration on college-drinking prevention strategies in Milwaukee.
CABHR Launches Major Study of Women’s Risk Behavior
CABHR scientist Laura Otto-Salaj, Ph.D., received a five-year, $2.9 million grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse to study risk behavior among African American women in Milwaukee.
Study Targets Opioid Dependence
CABHR scientists Michael Fendrich, Ph.D., Lisa Berger, Ph.D., and Mike Brondino, Ph.D., received funding to compare office-based to clinic-based delivery of medication to opioid-dependent patients.
