As the Business and Grants Officer for the Center for Addiction and Behavioral Health Research (CABHR), Eric supervises support staff for CABHR, coordinates all staff recruitments, works with principal investigators (PIs) on contract- and grant-related issues, and provides financial oversight to the center director and PIs.

Eric facilitates the pre- and post-award phases for all grant-funded research within CABHR. This involves providing support to PIs through budget development and grant preparation, as well as guidance on policies, procedures, and timelines. He serves as the primary contact for all CABHR business contract activities and is responsible for negotiating and contracting on behalf of CABHR. He also manages all studies' fiscal activities including purchasing, hiring, re-budgeting, submitting grant renewals, estimating budget carryover, tracking expenditure deadlines, and reconciling accounts.

As the lead administrative assistant for CABHR, Mary is responsible for coordinating all research seminars, lectures, and training programs. She also supports PIs in coordinating research protocol submissions to the institutional review board. Mary provides assistance in coordinating site setup for new project staff, oversees the administrative office operations, and manages all office staff. Her other duties include assisting with travel itineraries, reconciling expenditures, overseeing supply orders, and verifying charges related to all projects.

As administrative assistants for CABHR, Gina and Hannah perform many support duties, such as designing marketing materials, typing documents, duplicating, handling all purchasing, and maintaining inventories. They both support PIs and the business grants officer by obtaining quotes from vendors, placing and following through on orders, creating and revising documents, and compiling and summarizing research-related information. They also works on special projects as needed.
