Summary:

     UWM Campus Ambassadors are individuals who possess a keen desire to contribute to the life of the University. Through a variety of experiences and opportunities, they have the power to make a positive and lasting difference in the UWM community, and develop great leadership and resume-building skills in the process. Approximately 150 Campus Ambassadors will play a key role throughout Orientation Day by leading groups of new freshmen through activities and discussions. They will maintain contact with their group of freshman throughout the year. Campus Ambassadors will also participate in a variety of self-elected campus initiatives, which may include serving on campus committees, representing UWM on student panels and participating in other high-level service opportunities.


Who is eligible?

     Any returning undergraduate UWM student who will be enrolled in the fall semester is eligible. Campus Ambassadors must be available for the week prior to the start of classes for Orientation and training. Applications are accepted each year from mid-February through early March.

Who would this opportunity appeal to?

Benefits:

     Selected Campus Ambassadors will go through two-day training. They will learn about communication styles, group dynamics, leadership, diversity, and the UWM campus resources.
