S.H.A.C. is committed to
serving the residents of UWM by working to create an environment to increase
the social and academic quality of life. S.H.A.C. is the student's voice
to University Housing (UH) and we are here to ensure educational programming,
and being a proactive body within the residence halls.
Who is eligible?
Any UWM student who is a
current resident of Sandburg Halls and/or Purin Hall.
Department/Organization:
UWM University Housing (applicants must live in residence halls)
Benefits:
Students who are active
participants in S.H.A.C. will learn about the various ways to contribute
to a large, representative student organization. Students will learn about
working with peers and administration to provide representation for the
residents, gain wide-scale programming and event planning skills, participate
in community service efforts, and develop an understanding of the importance
of connecting to the UWM campus. Because of how closely the students work
with the University Housing staff, involvement in S.H.A.C. often leads
to future job opportunities within housing, and/or increased involvement
in campus and community leadership.
