ProspectiveA prospective student is anyone who would like more information about UWM and the city of Milwaukee.

New FreshmanIf you are attending high school, or have graduated from high school but have never enrolled at a college or university as a degree-seeking student, apply as a freshman.

TransferIf you are a high school graduate and have enrolled at a college or university as a degree-seeking student with 12 or more credits, apply as transfer student.

International If you are not a US citizen and would like to study at UWM, this information will guide you through the process.

GraduateIf you plan on seeking a master's or doctorate degree or graduate certificate from UWM, apply as a graduate student.

Second Undergraduate DegreeIf you plan on seeking a second bachelor's degree or certification from UWM, apply as a second degree student.

Re-EntryIf you have previously attended UWM, did not complete your degree and are seeking re-admittance, apply as a re-entry student.

University Special StudentIf you would like to take one or more undergraduate level courses for personal enrichment or as a proving ground without seeking a degree, apply as a university special student.

Non-traditionalIf you are 25 years of age, or older, please refer to the information provided here.

Guest StudentIf you would like to take one or more courses at the undergraduate level for only the summer or UWinterim term to transfer those credits to another institution, apply as either a summer guest or a UWinteriM guest.
