 | Application Process Overview- Complete and sign the UW System Application for Undergraduate Admission. You also can apply electronically on the Web.
- Attach a check or money order for $44, made payable to UW-Milwaukee. (Payment of the application fee with VISA or MasterCard also is acceptable.) This application fee is nonrefundable. Do not send cash.
- If you're still in high school...
Submit your completed application form (be sure to complete the "Courses in Progress" section) and application fee to your high school counselor, who will submit them together with your high school transcript to UWM. ACT or SAT I scores also are required. If you have not yet written the ACT or SAT exam, you may still apply to UWM. If your high school unit and class rank requirements are met, you may be admitted contingent upon receipt of ACT or SAT scores. You will not be allowed to register until your scores are received, however.
If you've graduated from high school but never attended college... Contact your high school and ask that an official transcript be sent to the Department of Enrollment Services. Then submit your completed application form and fee to the Department of Enrollment Services. (Students who are not 21 years of age by September 1 of the academic year of enrollment also must submit ACT or SAT scores.)
- Once your file is complete, you will be notified of your admission status (usually 3 to 4 weeks).
Once You Are Admitted- After you have been admitted, you will receive information about placement tests offered beginning in the spring. They're required before you can register for classes, so it's wise to take them early.
- Following your placement testing, you will be invited to attend a New Freshman Orientation session, where you'll meet with an academic advisor and register for classes. These sessions are held throughout the summer before you enter UWM.
