Guest Student Information

So you want to take advantage of your summer and winter breaks to get ahead on required courses for your degree. Well, you have come to the right place. We assist hundreds of students every year visiting the area or those who call metro-Milwaukee their home away from school.

Admission Requirements
Guest students for the summer or UWinteriM terms are students who attend another college or university and will only be enrolled in the summer or UWinteriM terms or are students who graduated from another college or university but do not plan to continue at UWM.

To qualify for admission as a Guest Student you need to be in good academic and financial standing at your home institution.

As a Guest Student, UWM is not able to award financial aid to you. If financial aid is a concern for you, please contact the financial aid department at your home institution.

Application Process
You have reviewed the admission requirements and are ready to get started. Here's what you will need to do!

We encourage you to complete the online application rather than using the paper form. Our office receives online applications the following business day after you submit them. You may request materials to be sent to you by contacting the Office of Adult and Returning Student Services.

Please Note! There is NO application fee to apply as a non-degree seeking Guest Student.

You may want to view UWM's course selection before you decide to apply for admission. You may use the electronic version of the Schedule of Classes. Copies of the printed Schedule of Classes are also available at any public library in the Milwaukee area, surrounding suburbs, and selected nearby towns. It may also be obtained in person at the Office of Adult and Returning Student Services (OARSS), Mellencamp Hall, Room 212 or from the Enrollment Services Information Area, Second Floor, Mellencamp Hall.

After you are Admitted
Generally within 10 days of application submission, you will be notified by mail when you have been admitted as a non-degree student. In your admission letter, you will receive an ePanther ID that you will use when registering for classes or accessing your student record. You should activate your ePanther account upon receipt at epantherid.uwm.edu. You will also receive a welcome letter that outlines important term dates as well as important contact information.

Registration
If you are currently attending another college or university, your advisor from your home institution should recommend which courses you should take that will transfer back to your home institution and apply toward your degree there.

You need your ePanther ID and Password to register on-line using PAWS. If you do not know your ePanther ID and/or password, please visit epantherid.uwm.edu to activate your account, reset your password or for other ePanther account help.
