The UWM Graduate School/Division of Research and Economic Development
  • Focuses on excellence in graduate education and the continued development of world class research programs. These programs serve South East Wisconsin by improving the quality of life in communities and augmenting economic development.
  • Actively seeks donor support and sponsorships. These gifts are essential means for achieving the goals set forth in the strategic plan. Funding priorities for the School include the following.

Excellent Graduate Students
  • Fellowships to provide tangible support for the brightest students and those with greatest need.
  • Diversity Fellowships to enrich the student body profile and provide opportunity to the broadest range of potential students.

Outstanding Research Centers/Programs
  • To provide seed funding for research in the arts, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, environmental sciences, engineering and health sciences.
  • Endowments to provide on-going support for the development of specific centers of excellence.

Programs in Economic Development

To provide support to the development of technology that will augment economic development in South East Wisconsin. To fund SBIR grant writers in support of spin-off companies.
