How do I register?

To register for the classes listed below, go to the Wellness Calendar. Once at the calendar, click on the desired class by locating the appropriate start date. The details of the class will pop up, click on the Register to this Event link to complete the registration form.

How do I pay?

Payment is due by Monday, October 6, 2014. Checks or exact cash only. Checks should be made out to UW Milwaukee Human Resources and delivered to Engelmann Hall 125, Attention: Susan Curtis.

NO refunds issued after the start of the classes listed below.


Mondays: Total Body Toning with Alina Gur

Date: Mondays, 8 Sessions (Oct 6, 12, 20, 27; Nov 3, 10, 17; Dec 1
Time: 5:15 - 6:00 pm
Location: Student Union Recreation Center - Table Tennis Room (Basement)
Fee: $25.00

Whether you consider yourself a gym rat or someone new to the world of fitness, anyone can work on fitness goals such as balance, strength, flexibility, and overall body sculpting in this 45 minute resistance and body weight exercise class. Please come prepared with a towel (hand size to medium), resistance band(s), and a mat. Bands can be either with or without the handles at the ends (they come in varying "weights" so find one that is comfortable for you) that can be found at any department store: Target, Wal-Mart, Sports Authority, etc.

Tuesdays: Tai Chi with Michael Meyers

Date:Tuesdays 8 Session Series (Oct 7, 14, 21, 28 Nov 4, 11, 18, Dec 2) NOTE: There will be no Tai Chi November 25 due to Thanksgiving.

T’ai Chi Ch’uan is an ancient system of Chinese exercises that focuses on the development of internal strength, balance and whole body coordination. By practicing T’ai Chi, your movements will become more flexible, efficient and powerful.


Wednesdays: Zumba with Tracy Oles-Fairchild

Are you ready to party yourself into shape? That is exactly what the Zumba class is all about. It is an exhilarating, effective, easy to follow, Latin-inspired calorie-burning dance fitness party that is moving people toward joy and health.

Thursdays: Pilates Express with Tracy Oles-Fairchild

Pilates focuses on a body conditioning routine that helps to improve core control, coordination, balance, and posture through body awareness. The goal is to use effective movement strategies to build long, lean muscles and increase flexibility and coordination. There will be different movements which are performed seated, sanding, on all fours, or lying on your back, side, or front. Please bring a mat. Everyone can benefit from Pilates, regardless of physical abilities size, shape, gender or age.

Fridays: Yoga with Jean Torrey-Camey

Yoga practice is an excellent way to build strength, stamina, flexibility, and balance while at the same time bringing our attention to what we're doing in the body, quieting the mind and reducing stress.
