Computers at AGS Library Digital Spatial Data Clearinghouse

The American Geographical Society Library is the Digital Spatial Data Clearinghouse for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee campus and community. AGS Library staff members collect, archive and distribute digital data files from sources such as federal, state and llocal governmental agencies.

The AGS Library digital data collection has worldwide coverage. However, the collection's main focus is the Milwaukee area and Wisconsin. Popular datasets include:

  • Basemap information, such as roads and rivers
  • Parcel boundaries
  • Land use and zoning
  • Environmental corridors
  • Topography and elevation

File formats include vector data, such as ESRI ArcGIS shapefiles and CAD files ; tabular data, such as census and property tables; and raster datasets, such as digital raster graphics and geoTIFFs.
