Admission Information
The admission requirements of the master's program are consistent with those of the Graduate School of UWM. In addition, students must meet the following requirements:ER nurse

  • Completion of the BS in Nursing degree with a minimum grade point average of a 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale with all transfer and repeated courses included in the calculation).
  • Completion, with a grade of C or higher, of an upper-level undergraduate course in statistics within five years immediately preceding admission.
  • Current registration in Wisconsin as a professional nurse.
  • Completion of the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) General Test within the last five years. This requirement is waived for applicants with a BS in Nursing GPA of a 3.2 or higher (on a 4.0 scale with all transfer and repeated courses included in the calculation) or a prior master's degree.
  • Completion of an Autobiographical Sketch with specific information as indicated in the Guide to the Application Process.
  • Three forms of recommendation for graduate study in nursing, two of which are knowledgeable about the applicant's recent academic and work experiences. It is recommend that two of the three be from person's with a master's degree in nursing. Personal interview of applicants with a faculty member may be requested.
