We are now accepting applications for new PASS SI Leaders and Tutors for Spring 2015, including:

Psycho (various 100 and 200 level courses)

Technology Assistants

PASS tutors/SI Leaders work an average of 10 hours per week and earn a starting wage of $9/hr ($10/hr for SI leaders). Applicants must have earned at least a B+ in the subject area one wishes to tutor (or passed the course through a placement test), have a minimum GPA of 3.0, demonstrate content area knowledge and study skills, and desire to help peers improve study skills and find success in the course.

Become a Tutor

Want to help other students and develop your own leadership abilities? Many of our tutors discover their natural teaching abilities while tutoring and decide to become teaching assistants, teachers, or professors. Others become nurses, translators, engineers, scientists, historians, librarians and other careers that make use of the skills they developed as a tutor.

Tutor Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled for credit at UWM
  • 3.0 gpa or better
  • A or B in the courses you wish to tutor
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sensitivity to a wide range of students

Technology Assistant Opportunities

If your skills lie in technology, including having the ability to quickly understand new computer programs and utilize online tools, you might like to work as a technology assistant. Our technology assistant will assist our tutors and Supplemental Instruction leaders to manage our expanding online programs through D2L and other online resources.

Clerical Staff Opportunities

If your skills lie in organizing, using computers, and managing files, you might like to work in our main office. Our clerical staff keeps our office up and running by providing reception, managing office operations, and providing backup support in our various centers. Preference is given to work-study students.

Program Assistant Opportunities

If your skills lie in assisting with educational resources, office and tutorial support, and special projects, you might like to work as one of our program assistants. Our program assistants help with the day to day operations and promotion of our various centers. Tutoring experience required.
