Symphonic Chorus
Rehearsals during Concert Chorale, Women’s Chorus, and University Choir
Varying conductors
The UWM Symphonic Chorus is comprised of over 250 singers drawn from the UWM Concert Chorale, Women’s Chorus, and University Choir, as well as other interested individuals. The Symphonic Chorus sings annually with the UWM Symphony Orchestra, the UWM Chamber Orchestra, or the UWM Wind Ensemble.
Over the years the choir has given performances of Elijah (Mendelssohn), Coronation Anthem #1 (Handel), Schicksalslied (Brahms), In Windsor Forest (Vaughan Williams), Gloria (Rutter), Serenade to Music (Williams), Gloria (Poulenc), Requiem (Fauré), Ein Deutsches Requiem (Brahms), Mass in B-flat (Schubert), Carmina Burana (Orff), Dona Nobis Pacem (Williams), Missa Brevis KV. 220 (Mozart), and Frostiana (Thompson).
Singers must be available for combined orchestra/chorus rehearsals on three or four Tuesday and Thursday afternoons as required each semester. These special rehearsals, outside of normal ensemble rehearsal time, will be included in the schedule of rehearsals and performances distributed at the first rehearsal of each ensemble.
