Auditions Spring 2009 Top
Auditions for the Youth Wind Ensembles are held in two stages. In the first round, students are auditioning for acceptance (or re-acceptance for returning members) into the program, and placement into one of the two Youth Wind Ensembles. In the late summer, students who have been assigned to Youth Wind Ensemble I and Youth Wind Ensemble II are called to a second round audition for their chair placement within their ensemble. Information on these chair auditions is sent out in mid-summer.
Students must be nominated for first round auditions by a school music or private lessons teacher no later than Friday, March 27, 2009. Only students who are endorsed by a teacher will be considered for audition.
Nominated students who meet the initial criteria for audition will receive a special packet of information and instructions by April 17, 2009.
Upon being invited to audition, students must call the UWM-YWE office (414-229-5641) to make an audition appointment during one of these audition days:
Tuesday, May 5, 2009: 5-8pm (only for returning students)
Friday, May 8, 2009: 5-8pm (only for newly nominated students)
Saturday, May 9, 2009: 10am-2pm (for either returning or newly nominated students)
