Jessamy Meyer

Jessamy Meyer
Year: Senior
Track: Conceptual Studies and Film/Video/New Genres
Media: For conceptual studies, I like to study and write about spectatorlal objectivity and identification. In my production work, my main interest is the editing process; currently most of my works are experimental narratives.

Approach to Art
All of my works are reflections of the something I feel paralyzed by at that point in my life. It's the whole art as therapy thing. When just words aren't working, to create something makes those ideas/feelings slightly more tangible.

"Daylight", 2007

Favorite Quote
I've been reading a lot of Godard lately. "Cinema is the most beautiful fraud in the world." I couldn't agree more.

"In Polka Dots and Pearls", 2007

Plans After Graduation:
I plan to go to graduate school for elementary education. But first, I want to spend some time just not being in school and academically driven. I'm getting really overwhelmed creatively by documentaries these days. I'd like to pursue that interest, as well as my overall desire to work as an editor.
