Research Fellows Program Call for Applications

The UWM Research Foundation is excited to announce a call for applications for the Research Fellows Program. The program is designed to help UWM researchers in the sciences, engineering, and business attract and retain the best and brightest research assistants and post-doctoral researchers to improve the productivity of their research efforts.


Catalyst Grant Program
Call for Proposals

The UWM Research Foundation is pleased to announce a call for proposals in the second round of the Rockwell Catalyst Grant Program. Up to $170,000 in Catalyst Grants will be awarded with support from the Rockwell Automation Charitable Corporation. These awards will be made to seed promising research in the areas of software & informatics, sensors & devices and materials.

The UWM Research Foundation, Inc. is a private non-stock, non-profit corporation under Chapter 181 of the Wisconsin Statutes organized and operated exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and is controlled by the UWM Foundation, Inc.

The primary purpose of the UWM Research Foundation, Inc. is to support research and innovation at UWM by providing funding for scholarships and grants and by engaging in corporate partnering activities to that end.

UWM Research Foundation licenses compounds to MPP Group for alcohol addiction
The UWM Research Foundation and MPP Group, LLC, announced the completion of a license agreement for a series of novel compounds that may be useful in the treatment and control of alcohol addiction. The compounds, developed by James Cook, UWM Distinguished Professor of Chemistry, also may be useful in treating other addictive behaviors or disorders. Read more...

UWM Research Foundation awards $500,000 in catalyst grants
The UWM Research Foundation announced $500,000 in catalyst grant awards made possible by support from the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation. The Catalyst Grant Program is designed to provide seed funding for promising research projects at UWM that have strong potential for commercialization and impact on the local economy. Projects are selected based on their scientific excellence as judged by outside experts as well as their commercial potential. Read more...

UWM Research Foundation names 2008 Innovator Award
Mary Lynne Perille Collins, professor of biological science, received the 2008 UWM Research Foundation Innovator Award. The Award recognizes a UWM researcher who exemplifies the highest standards for scientific excellence and demonstrates a commitment to the commercialization process. Collins devised a cost-effective method for producing human membrane proteins necessary to make drugs and vaccines for human use. Read more...
