Annual Security Report and Annual Fire Safety Report

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act  ("Clery Act") is a federal law that requires colleges and universities to report and publish crime statistics along with policies and procedures regarding campus security.  The Higher Education Opportunity Act requires institutions that maintain on-campus student housing facilities to publish an annual fire safety report that contains information about campus fire safety practices and standards of the institution.

Each fall, UWM compiles and distributes this information in the Annual Security  Report and Annual Fire Safety Report (available below in PDF) which also contain personal safety guidelines and crime reporting information for students, faculty and staff.  Additionally, the Annual Security Report contains detailed information about the health effects and legal consequences that can result from alcohol and drug use.

Printed copies of the reports are available in the Office of Student Life (Mellencamp 118).

Additional information about the Clery Act is available at www.securityoncampus.org.
