Information About Applying To Programs

Minimum requirements to apply to a Teacher Certification Program:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Transcripts documenting minimum 2.50 GPA in the Bachelor's degree
• Passing Praxis I test scores
• Copy of active 5-year WI teaching license (if licensed in regular or special education provide in lieu of Praxis I scores)

Application to Programs vs. Application to UWM/MPS Internship Program

Application and acceptance into the UWM/MPS Internship Program comes after you have applied and been accepted into one of our teacher certification programs.

Follow these four steps to get started:

Step #1:

Decide which certification program you are interested in: Early Childhood, Middle Childhood to Early Adolescence or Early Adolescence to Adolescence.

Step #2: Take steps to complete the application process for your program of choice. For more information, see our application packet.

Step #3: Once you have submitted a complete application, you will be contacted by our office for an Interview. The Interview is one component of the application process for each of our certification programs.

Step #4: At the Interview, you will be asked if you are interested in the UWM/MPS Internship program. If so, and if you are accepted into the certification program you applied to, you will be sent an application for the Internship program along with your acceptance letter to the Certification program.
